How KinderRise Brings Philosophy into Practice
At KinderRise Academy, our program statement is more than a requirement—it is a living reflection of our values. Guided by How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (HDLH) and rooted in our Five Pillars—Family Engagement, Inclusion & Diversity, Pedagogical Leadership, Holistic Child Development, and Community Well-Being—we ensure that every child and family feels a strong sense of belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression.
The chart below shows how KinderRise’s goals and approaches align with both HDLH and the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA). This quick reference is designed to help families understand how our daily practices—whether it’s through play, cultural celebrations, outdoor learning, or monthly Family Wellness Hub workshops—are directly connected to the province’s expectations for high-quality early learning and care.
Program Statement
At KinderRise Academy, we believe all children are competent, capable, curious, and rich in potential. Our program is guided by Ontario’s pedagogy How Does Learning Happen? and shaped by our Five Pillars—Family Engagement, Inclusion & Diversity, Pedagogical Leadership, Holistic Child Development, and Community Well-Being.
Through Montessori-inspired environments, play-based inquiry, family partnerships, and community connections, we create opportunities for children to explore, express, and grow in ways that foster belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression. Our approaches are reviewed annually to ensure they remain aligned with current research, family feedback, and provincial standards.
Mission Statement
At KinderRise Academy, our mission is to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where children and families grow, learn, and thrive together.
We nurture curious, confident, and compassionate learners through family engagement, diverse cultural experiences, and child-led exploration supported by thoughtful guidance.
Vision Statement
KinderRise Academy’s vision is to honour every child’s unique potential by fostering a vibrant learning community where children, families, and educators grow together in an atmosphere of connection, inclusion, and cultural respect.
We celebrate diversity by engaging with local Indigenous and Francophone communities, weaving their histories, languages, and traditions into daily learning so that every child develops a lifelong love of learning and a deep appreciation for the cultures that shape our world.

Ongoing Review & Commitment
KinderRise Academy is committed to keeping our Program Statement meaningful and relevant. In accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), our statement is reviewed at least once every year, or sooner if new research, family feedback, or regulatory changes suggest updates are needed.
Educators, families, and community partners are all invited to share reflections during this review process. By doing so, we ensure our practices remain aligned with How Does Learning Happen?, continue to reflect our Five Pillars, and stay responsive to the evolving needs of children and families.
